Ryan FeierabendEnshrinement in the Midview Athletic Hall of Fame is awarded to the finest athletes to have played at Midview or its’ predecessors. There is no doubt, Ryan Feierabend, meets that criterion. His accomplishments on the baseball diamond were among the greatest in Middie history.

Ryan made an immediate impact with the Midview baseball program when he made the varsity squad as a freshman, the only 9th grader to make the team. He showed he deserved to be there by no-hitting Oberlin that same season.

As a sophomore, Feierabend broke the Middie strikeout record (previously held by MAHOF inductee Don Vesling) and led the Middies to a conference championship.

The astonishing success continued in Ryan’s junior season, when he again led Midview to a conference championship, and was name the league’s Player of the Year.

Feierabend’s senior season was simply sensational. Again, he led the Middies to a conference championship, and a deep run in tournament play, a berth in the district final game, where the Middies fell in that championship contest. He was again named the Conference Player of the Year, and was accorded numerous post-season awards, including All County, All District, and All State honors. Ryan’s final career numbers at Midview included 23 wins, 347 strikeouts, and a 1.55 ERA.

While Ryan is best known for his work on the diamond at Midview, he was a tremendous all around athlete. He played football for two years, and was a member of the basketball team for three seasons. Following his exploits at Midview, Ryan was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2003 draft by Seattle, and rose through their system, making his major league debut three years later, when he was called up in September of 2006. Ryan recorded his first major league win in 2007. In 2008, he was the Mariners AAA “Pitcher of the Year”.

Feierabend underwent Tommy John surgery in 2009, but persevered, and spent this past season at the AAA level in the Texas organization.

Ryan is married to his wife Sarah, and they have two children, a son Trey, and a daughter Sienna.

Welcome, Ryan Feierabend, into the Midview Athletic Hall of Fame
