Class of 2012
Don Rozanski

Don Rozanski

The 1998 and 1999 Midview football teams rank among the best in school history. Each was a conference champion, and playoff participant. Their offenses compiled gaudy numbers, and their defenses were punishing, stingy units. A stalwart on both sides of the ball on both those teams was Don Rozanski. Don was a tremendous offensive tackle, and exceptional linebacker. He and his twin brother and previous MAHOF inductee Dan Rozanski wreaked havoc against opponents.

In 1998 Midview roared to a 9-1 record and a trip to the playoffs, and Don Rozanski was a major reason why. As a junior that season, his play both offensively and defensively earned him First Team All-Conference, All-County, and All District and Don was also Honorable Mention All State.

In 1999, the Middies registered a perfect 10-0 regular season, earning another post-season berth, and Don Rozanski’s exploits topped his great junior season. On a team that rushed for over 4,000 yards, his pulverizing blocks landed Don the prestigious Lombardi Award for Lorain County’s top offensive lineman. At the end of the season, he graded out at 92%. On defensive, he punished opponents, registering four quarterback sacks, and 12 tackles for losses. He again was First Team All Conference, County, and District, and was Special Mention All-State.

When talking the history of Midview football, if you ask either “best offensive lineman?” or “best linebacker?” to ever play for the Middies, Don Rozanski’s name will always be in the conversation.

Welcome, Don Rozanski, into the Midview Athletic Hall of Fame
