Kris Boey - MAHOF Class of 2003

Kris Boey’s accomplishments as a runner read like War and Peace. They go on and on, chapter at a time. As a freshman, Boey was MVP in both cross-country and track and field. He also was All Erie Shore Conference and finished 2nd in the 1600 meters and 2nd in the 3200 meters at the conference meet. Midview did not field a cross-country team Kris’s sophomore year, but he continued to dominate in track and field. He garnered team MVP honors a second time, and was again named All Erie Shore Conference, winning the 1600 and 3200-meter races at the conference meet. He also finished 6th in the Lorain County decathlon.

Kris was just getting started. Midview again assembled a cross-country team his junior year, and Kris was named captain, MVP, Erie Shore Conference champion, and Erie Shore Conference runner of the year. He was team MVP, All Erie Shore Conference, and sparkled at the conference meet, winning the 1600 meters, and finishing 2nd in the 800. To top off a great year, he was the 1600 meter champion at the Lorain County track meet and qualified for the regionals. Like every great runner, Kris finished his career with a strong kick. His senior year was predictable. In cross-country, Boey was again captain and MVP. He was Erie Shore Conference champion and runner of the year. In track, Kris captured numerous races and honors. He was conference champion in the 800 and 1600 meters and was a member of the conference champion 1600 and 3200 meter relay teams. Midview won the district title in the 1600 meter relay, (qualifying for the regionals) and Boey qualified for regionals in the 800 meters. Kris was MVP, ESC Scholar-Athlete Award winner and he and his teammates set the school record in the 1600 meter relay,

Boey’s legendary running career continued at Baldwin Wallace College, where he won numerous school and conference championships, was named MVP, and earned All American honors as part of B-W’s 1600 meter relay team.

Kris is the head track coach at Ohio Wesleyan University and lives with his wife Leslie in Columbus, Ohio.
